Yesterday was our official kickoff to virtual camp! We started with a camp-wide Zoom call. We were all sad we couldn't be together, at camp, in person this year but it was great to see so many old and new faces on the call. We are so excited to share that we have campers from Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Georgia, New Hampshire, Maine, South Carolina, Hawaii, Illinois, Alaska, Louisiana, New Jersey, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma and even Ontario Canada. The choice boards were introduced which is where campers will find all of their activities for the week. Next week, new choice boards will be posted. We also introduced Flipgrid which is a platform where campers can post videos of them completing activities and also comment on other campers' videos. Lastly, we announced that we will have a virtual talent show this year and campers should start brainstorming their acts. More details about the talent show will be forthcoming in the next week.
Today the 7-8 year olds had their first "Stump the Priest" session with our camp chaplain, Fr. Timothy Hojniki. They had a lot of great questions. It was nice to meet new campers and say hello to old ones. Later in the evening, the 12 and 13 year olds had their fellowship Zoom call. Again, it was really fun having campers from all over the country be together at one time and share their experiences unique to their hometowns.
We are so excited to see many campers have already posted videos to Flipgrid. It looks like everyone is having so much fun so far.
