We had a great first day at camp and are so excited to see all of our campers, counselors, and staff! We were happy to see the rain held off during check-in which made it easy for everyone to unload their cars and move in. All of our campers got settled and met their room counselors. Following, many chose to spend time at the pool or in the field playing sports and games.
We enjoyed a delicious cookout for dinner and had the opportunity to make new friends and catch up with old ones. After, we had our camper orientation. Our diocesan hierarch, Archbishop Mark joined us along with Fr. Herman from St. Tikhon's Monastery and other clergy that will be visiting during the week. Our education coordinator, Mrs. Anna Marie Black introduced our camp theme, "Living Things Both Small and Great" which will focus on plants and animals in the Bible, specifically those that point towards Christ. Campers later broke out into age group mini-sessions for ice breakers and games.
Counselor Ana held our first story-time, a camp favorite. We are happy to say everyone is doing well and excited for our first full day of activities tomorrow.
