Camp History

The camp program was established by His Beatitude Metropolitan Herman to encourage Orthodox Christian youths to play and pray together. Martin Paluch served as Camp Director from its inception until 2010.

The camp is a ministry under the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania.

The program continues to operate with the blessing of His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, and with the continued support of the Monastery and Seminary.

Teen Camp

Teen Camp was established in 2005 by as a “camp within a camp” that focuses on the teens’ particular interests and learning styles.

The teens have workshops each day with different facilitators. Their discussions are based around the general camp theme, but the teens are also encouraged to contribute topics they want to know more about, and we make an effort to address those as well.

During camp, the teens are divided into four teams. They spend some time every day in friendly competition for team points, and the winning team is honored at the end of the week of camp. The teens are also invited to participate in cultural activity of their choice – dancing, pysanky-making, or iconography.
